Hey, I'm Olivia
I’ve worked in the technology sector for over 10+ years in agencies, large UK government departments and for small businesses. I delivered digital products for the Department of International Trade during Brexit and for NHSx during COVID-19 so I understand what it takes to step up and lead in high-profile roles.
"I've always been interested in using my skills in user-centred design, delivery and content strategy for the greater good."
But in 2019, I realised that by delivering a shiny new website only solved a small part of the problem. I saw the situations crop up: old legacy technology, exasperated teams, frustrated leaders. The biggest barrier to change was always the people. I became a qualified Executive Coach to help unlock some of the challenges I saw. Becoming a coach has positively changed my life in profound ways, I truly believe it is a super-skill.
Level 7 Executive Coach & Mentor
After giving birth to my son in 2022, my life completely changed; muddling through the early-days of parenthood while on maternity leave, life felt chaotic, blissfully beautiful with my son by my side, but I felt I’d lost my identity. It took me a while to realise, I’m still Olivia but a newer, better version of myself.
Becoming a mother is one of the strongest things I’ve ever done, but coming back into the workplace after having a baby felt disarming. The narrative I told myself was that I was at a huge back foot and needed to work extra hard or be extra visible to make up for lost time. I suspect this is a narrative that many other women tell themselves.
"The reality of returning back to work is very different for every woman but for me, I felt ready to go, like I'd been on a year long training course in resilience, time management and leadership."
Life milestones and career goals
Readiness for change
After a while, I came back full circle to an itch I was trying to scratch just before I fell pregnant. This feeling that I wasn’t staying true to my values and that I wasn’t serving a purpose I’d set out for my thirties. Something had to change.
I quit my job without having anything else lined up because I knew I had to honour my happiness. Making the change felt risky, but ultimately I knew I needed to start following my mission: to coach female leaders and ambitious team players so that they can make positive change in the world.
When I say positive change, it’s a blanket term that covers not only your own professional and personal development (in the spirit of putting your own gas mask on first!) but also the ability for you to push the needle on social change or to drive a mission which helps others.
Positive change means:
- Being authentic, unapologetically you
- Showing up consistently in all parts of your life
- Not letting one or multiple beliefs hold you back
- Challenging viewpoints held by others
- Supporting and enabling others in need
Positive change
Rewriting new narratives and asking the question
Becoming a mother was the first time I felt I fell through the gaps of society, at worst, I felt invisible, at best, I felt patronised. As I conquered this massive life milestone, there was a bittersweet taste in my mouth, it led me to question, more broadly, my experiences as a woman.
I suddenly saw narratives I was told by others to keep me in place. There were jobs in which I thrived and others where I felt deflated and invisible, so I started to wonder how the people and characters around me helped or hindered my self-value and rate of growth.
Through an intense period of self-reflection and flux, I was able to lean into the challenge, it was hard and painful but it happened and I’m still working through some aspects.
I write this story to all women out there struggling too, and I ask you to do one thing: question the unquestionable.
You have a decision to make: to accept or to question
Coaching builds self-awareness in order to rediscover your spark and create the positive change that you are absolutely capable of.
With a dedicated coach, you have a 2nd person to sense-check your experiences with, someone to promote a sense of identity, to firm up the gut instinct and someone to hold us to account to challenge the things we’ve come to accept as normal.
Our coaching allows busy and ambitious women to stop and reflect, not only on how far they’re come but to be asked the questions that no-one else asks.
